Andrew Quarrie is the CEO/Founder of the Urbanism Summit, a multidisciplinary event for cultivating a more people and planet centric mindset and approach towards urbanization. Over a decade as a multifaceted creative, his marketing consulting career involved projects spanning both regional companies throughout South Florida and multi-national brands. He now pours most of his energy into the Urbanism Summit, the Conscious Urbanism initiative (a fiscally sponsored project of The Center for Social Change), and hosting his widely distributed podcast “Urblandia” ( Focused on social impact entrepreneurship within the context of localization and urban development). Andrew is also a board member of The Fairchild Palms, supporting the environmental conservation initiatives of The Fairchild Challenge - a program of the world-renowned Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. He also supports the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens by being an active member of their Tech Advisory Committee. He is an appointed member of the WLRN Community Advisory Board (CAB).

Here's an opportunity to help shape the local food ecosystem and urban farming through policy, which is currently non-existent within City of Miami zoning.
We have seen how the Coronavirus pandemic has disproportionately affected BIPOC neighborhoods already suffering many hardships. Food distribution was an immediate need and many local organizations sprung into action to feed the community. Having access to fresh and nutrient-rich produce at an affordable cost can contribute to keeping communities healthy. A fresh and healthy accessible food ecosystem should be an obvious part of any city's resiliency planning, let's make this change happen in Miami now.
